Anshun

Anshun is the core city of Guizhou's Third Front aviation industry. From 1964, Base 011 (aviation — fighter and engine development and production) was laid into the hills around Anshun-Zhenning-Pingba, with dozens of plants and institutes built, including the Liyang Engine Works (today's AECC Liyang) and the Shuangyang Aircraft Factory (today's AVIC Guifei); tens of thousands of aviation workers moved into central Guizhou, and Anshun became an important national aviation base. At the same time Anshun's traditional handicrafts (batik, wood carving) and medicinal-herb trade have a long history, and its modern industry started with tobacco (the Anshun Cigarette Factory) and machinery. After reform and opening-up Base 011 converted to civilian production; Guifei (trainers, drones) and Liyang (aero-engines) still carry national programme tasks; Bailing Pharmaceutical (Miao medicine) grew into Guizhou's pharma leader; and tourism at Huangguoshu Waterfall (among the first national scenic areas, designated 1982) has never faded.

In 2025 Anshun's above-scale industrial value added grew steadily. Aviation equipment is the largest industry (AVIC Guifei trainers and drones, AECC Liyang engines, and a cluster of aviation parts suppliers), with the Anshun High-tech Zone (a national high-tech industrial base for civil aviation) hosting the aviation supply cluster; pharma keeps its specialty edge (the Bailing family's Miao medicine, medicinal-herb cultivation and processing); tourism (Huangguoshu 5A waterfall, Longgong, Tunpu culture) sees annual visitor numbers among the province's highest; equipment manufacturing (CNC machine tool supply, auto parts) works alongside specialty foods (Anshun golden roxburgh rose, tea). Anshun is building toward a central-Guizhou aviation highland and a famous tourism city.

Anshun's maintenance demand centres on aviation manufacturing and pharma. Maintenance on aviation parts firms' CNC machine-tool clusters (machining centres, turn-mill), heat-treatment lines and special-process equipment (surface treatment, non-destructive testing support) carries an extremely high professional bar (confidentiality and AS9100 system requirements) — but also the highest stickiness and premium. Cranes, test benches and environmental systems in engine and aircraft final-assembly shops are a high-end stock market; pharma plants (Miao-medicine extraction, formulation, packaging) keep clean-facility and line upkeep steady; tourism facilities (Huangguoshu scenic-area lifts and escalators, hotel M&E, wastewater treatment) are important upkeep work.
