Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture

Chuxiong sits at a central-Yunnan crossroads, and its modern industry began with tobacco, metallurgy and Third Front supply: the Chuxiong Cigarette Factory was built in the 1950s and central-Yunnan metallurgy (the Lufeng and Wuding iron-mine complex) was developed. Under the Third Front programme Chuxiong took in machinery, chemical and defence suppliers (the Yipinglang coal mine, the Lufeng iron-and-steel complex), its location improved by the Chengdu-Kunming Railway (opened 1970). After reform and opening-up tobacco (the Chuxiong Cigarette Factory) and metallurgy developed steadily. After 2018 Chuxiong seized the green-energy opening: PV projects such as Yuze Semiconductor (monocrystalline silicon) and JinkoSolar (cells at the Chuxiong base) landed, and green aluminium (Central Yunnan Aluminium's Chuxiong project) moved ahead — transforming a traditional tobacco-metallurgy prefecture into a green-manufacturing city.

In 2025 Chuxiong Prefecture's above-scale industrial value added grew quickly. Green silicon PV (Yuze monocrystalline silicon, Jinko cells and supply chain) has jumped into the province's top ranks by output; green aluminium (electrolytic aluminium and processing) is expanding on clean power; tobacco (the Chuxiong Cigarette Factory) and biopharmaceuticals (Yi ethnic medicine — Panlong Yunhai, the Central Yunnan Pharmaceutical family) keep their distinctive edge; new materials and equipment advance alongside. The Chuxiong High-tech Zone and the Lufeng-Wuding belt are the main carriers, and the prefecture is building into a central-Yunnan highland for green manufacturing and Yi medicine.

Chuxiong's maintenance demand follows one main thread — the new PV plants. Pullers, slicers and cell lines (PECVD, cleaning, screen printing) are large in scale and highly automated; upkeep and process-equipment retrofits are continuous, with high demands on cleanliness and stability. Potline overhauls and retrofits at the aluminium smelter are large-volume; upkeep at tobacco and Yi-medicine works (pharmaceutical cleanroom utilities, extraction and concentration, filling and packaging) is steady; new-materials plant is maintained on defined cycles. Our focus: outsourced PV line upkeep, smelter potline overhauls, and Yi-medicine cleanroom and line upkeep.
