Bazhong

Bazhong was the capital of the Sichuan-Shaanxi Soviet area (the Fourth Front Army of the Red Army established the base in 1933); its industrial base was long thin, resting on agriculture and handicrafts. After Bazhong prefecture was split from Daxian prefecture in 1993 and became a city in 2000, industrialisation advanced on its resource endowment: oil and gas exploration broke through around Pingchang-Bazhong (the Yuanba field and others) and shale oil-gas development started; graphite resources (Nanjiang) were developed into the embryo of a new-materials industry. Industrialisation came late to the old base area but is growing fast — Bazhong is a representative case of late-industrialising Sichuan.

In 2025 Bazhong's above-scale industrial value added kept growing at a fairly fast pace, with energy-chemicals the first main thrust: shale oil-gas exploration and development continue (Sinopec's Yuanba field and surrounding blocks), and gas comprehensive-utilisation projects have landed; graphite new materials (graphene and microcrystalline-graphite deep processing at Nanjiang), green food processing (industrialisation of Bashan beef cattle and Tongjiang white fungus) and tourism-wellness (Guangwu Mountain) advance together. The Bazhong ETDZ is the main industrial carrier.

Bazhong's market sits in "early industrialisation", and its demand structure differs from that of developed cities: maintenance and installation work on drilling, gathering and purification equipment driven by energy development is the largest order source; new-build and retrofit demand is growing at graphite plants (crushing, flotation, drying and forming equipment); food-processing plants run mostly small and mid-sized machines, so packaged upkeep and fault handling are the mainstream; commissioning orders for new plant buildings (Module 06) increase with investment-attraction projects. Our focus: commissioning of oil-gas surface-engineering equipment, packaged upkeep at graphite concentrators, and custody-style equipment upkeep at food plants.
