Deyang

Deyang is the core of the heavy-equipment base in the Third Front's "two bases and one line" layout. After 1964 national key projects were started one after another — the Second Heavy Machinery Plant (today's Sinomach Heavy Equipment), Dongfang Electric Machinery and Dongfang Turbine (originally at Hanwang in Mianzhu) — and tens of thousands of builders moved in from the north-east, Shanghai and elsewhere, forming a heavy-equipment order in which "every machine tool and every screw was a state task". In the "5·12" mega-earthquake of 2008 Dongfang Turbine's Hanwang works was destroyed; the whole plant was relocated and rebuilt in Deyang's Bajiao New District, setting an industrial-rebirth record of "two years to rebuild, ten years to leap ahead". Deyang became a city in 1983, converting from an industrial stronghold into a prefecture-level city.

In 2025 Deyang's above-scale industrial value added grew steadily. Its complete-plant capability in clean-energy equipment (hydro, thermal, nuclear, gas turbine and wind — the "five power lines together") leads the nation; Sinomach Heavy Equipment carries several national major special projects, with continuing breakthroughs in large castings and forgings and heavy pressure vessels; materials and chemicals (phosphorus-titanium chemistry) and food and beverage (Shifang cigarettes, Jiannanchun at Mianzhu) hold their scale. The Deyang ETDZ is a national-level zone, and the city's share of world power-generation equipment output is among the highest.

Dongfang Electric Group (Dongfang Motor, Dongfang Turbine, Dongfang Wind — among Sichuan's top-100 enterprises), Sinomach Heavy Equipment (Erzhong, large castings and forgings / heavy plant), Jiannanchun (Mianzhu), the Shifang Cigarette Factory, and Lomon Billions Titanium (Deyang base).

Deyang is one of the densest equipment-manufacturing cities in the south-west. Large machine tools (gantry millers, vertical lathes, boring mills), lifting equipment (bridge cranes of 250 tonnes and above) and welding and heat-treatment lines are standard issue at heavy-equipment firms, and demand for electrical control-circuit retrofits, mechanical accuracy restoration and overhauls is stable year-round. Equipment ages here are long (much of it commissioned in the Third Front era or the rebuild period), with ageing hydraulics and dated CNC systems the common pain points — exactly the home ground of our "specialist machine-tool repair + refurbishment and upgrade of ageing equipment". At the same time, commissioning of equipment shipped into Deyang's plants by outside suppliers (Module 06) is a well-supplied order source.
