Ya'an

Ya'an's modern industry is inseparable from hydro development: the water resources of the Dadu and Qingyi rivers have been developed in cascades since the 1950s (starting with Tongtou and a cluster of small stations), and under the Third Front programme the city took in defence electronics (the forerunner of the Chuanxi Machinery Plant and others) and small Third Front machinery enterprises. After 2000 large-scale hydro development (the Dadu River cascade — Pubugou, Shenxigou and others) made Ya'an an important clean-energy base in Sichuan; after the "4·20" Lushan earthquake of 2013, post-disaster rebuilding drove the reshaping of infrastructure and industry; in recent years, on its power advantage, Ya'an has grown big data (the Chengdu Cloud Valley · Ya'an Big Data Industrial Park) and lithium-battery anode materials, and green energy-intensive industry has taken shape.

In 2025 Ya'an's above-scale industrial value added grew steadily, with hydro capacity and generation among the province's top — green power converted into industrial advantage. Big data (the western-Sichuan data-centre cluster) keeps expanding; lithium-battery materials (graphitisation capacity for anode materials) cluster on the tariff advantage; advanced materials (copper and aluminium conductors, crystal materials) and equipment manufacturing (the Chuanxi Machinery family) are steady; and mechanisation in tea processing (Mengding Mountain tea) is rising.

Dadu River hydro operators (the Pubugou cascade and other stations), the western-Sichuan data-centre cluster (the three telecom operators and third parties), the lithium-battery anode-materials project group (graphitisation capacity), the Chuanxi Machinery Plant (equipment manufacturing), and the Zhongrui Copper family.

Ya'an's market revolves around "electricity". Overhauls and preventive testing of hydro station electromechanical equipment (turbines, governors, excitation, gate hoists) are highly specialised work on defined cycles; data-centre M&E facilities (diesel generators, UPS, precision air conditioning, power distribution) need round-the-clock upkeep teams; upkeep of graphitisation furnaces and milling equipment at lithium-materials plants is steady demand. Our focus: hydro station M&E overhauls and scheduled inspections (Modules 02/03), outsourced data-centre M&E upkeep, and graphitisation line maintenance.
