Ziyang

Ziyang's modern industry began with machinery and food. The Ziyang Diesel Locomotive Works laid out under the Third Front programme (today's CRRC Ziyang Locomotive) is an important locomotive base of the south-west: built in 1966, it turned out diesel locomotives in batches from the 1970s and exported to many countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. Ziyang prefecture was set up in 1998 and became a city in 2000. After Jianyang was transferred to Chengdu in 2015, Ziyang turned to a "small but special" course: building rail-transit industry on its locomotive heritage, and from 2017 developing "China Dental Valley" to gather oral-medical-device firms — forming a sharply distinctive industrial system.

In 2025 Ziyang's above-scale industrial value added grew steadily. Rail-transit equipment (CRRC Ziyang Locomotive: diesel locomotives, hybrid locomotives and export orders) holds its industry standing; China Dental Valley now has over a hundred oral-medical-device firms, with localisation rising in clear aligners, implants and imaging equipment; deep processing of Anyue lemons and food processing are expanding in scale; and the airport-adjacent economy (the Ziyang section of the Chengdu Tianfu International Airport airport economic zone) is starting to take shape.

Ziyang's market is defined by "precision and cleanliness". Upkeep of machining, welding, painting and assembly equipment at the locomotive works is traditional heavy work, with steady demand for machine-tool accuracy and electrical retrofits; at Dental Valley device firms, upkeep of injection moulding, precision machining and cleanroom facilities (purification HVAC, pure water, compressed air) has high requirements and strong stickiness; seasonal upkeep concentrates on washing, sorting and packaging equipment at food plants (lemon deep processing). Our focus: outsourced cleanroom and equipment upkeep at medical-device plants, machine-tool accuracy maintenance and CNC retrofits at the locomotive works, and packaged seasonal upkeep on food lines.
