Gaoping District

Gaoping lies on the east bank of the Jialing River and was historically the eastern gateway of Shunqing Prefecture, with wharves and silk weaving workshops strung along the river. Most of Nanchong's old silk mills clustered east of the river, and century-old firms like the Liuhe silk works left a deep tradition of spinning machinery use. After 1949 silk, building materials and agricultural machinery repair plants were laid out here; after reform and opening-up the silk, spinning and garment trades boomed for a time. Since 2010, with the Linjiang New Area and the Airport Economic Development Zone going up, Gaoping's industry has shifted from its old silk base toward electronic information and equipment manufacturing — old plant sites vacating as equipment renews.

Gaoping is building its "1+3" modern manufacturing system. Electronic information is led by Nanchong Sanhuan Electronics, with more than a dozen upstream and downstream firms — Chuanjing Technology, Yihui Electronics, Zhanyuan Industrial — producing resistors by the hundreds of millions per day. Silk textiles and garments are led by Fuanna Home Textiles, Longyun Footwear and the Liuhe Group; equipment manufacturing is represented by Kehua Petroleum, COSCO Industry and Liaoyuan Machinery; auto parts makers such as Tongjun Machinery supply the Chengdu-Chongqing OEMs. The Linjiang New Area (Gaoping section) modern manufacturing park has already taken in over a dozen electronic information firms with output near CNY 3 billion.

Gaoping's maintenance demand spans two generations of equipment side by side. Chip resistor lines at the Sanhuan-family electronics plants are high-speed automation: stable cycle times and temperature control on the pick-and-place machines, taping machines and sintering furnaces are the lifeline, and an hour of downtime costs tens of thousands of yuan — ideal for predictive maintenance with spares pre-positioned. At the old silk mills the looms and dyeing-setting machines are long in the tooth, with electrical ageing and mechanical wear faults piling up — classic work for difficult-fault troubleshooting and refurbishment. Machining shops at oilfield equipment and precision parts plants need dedicated machine-tool repair and accuracy calibration. Warehouse conveyor upkeep driven by the airport and logistics park is also picking up.
