Beibei District

Beibei was a modern Chinese rural-reconstruction experimental zone (Lu Zuofu led the Jialing River Three Gorges rural reconstruction from 1927); the Minsheng Company system drove its early industrialisation (the Tianfu coal mine, the Beichuan Railway — one of Sichuan's earliest railways). During wartime relocation the Academia Sinica, Fudan University and others moved to Beibei, making it one of the wartime "Noah's Arks of the East"; instruments and electrical firms started in the same period. Under the Third Front programme the Sichuan Instrument General Plant (forerunner of Chuanyi, assembled from 1965 by relocation from Shanghai and elsewhere) settled in Beibei, forming the largest automation-instrument base in western China; the Tianfu coal mine and power plant backed energy supply.

In 2025 instruments and sensors were the speciality of Beibei's above-scale industry. The Chuanyi family (pressure / temperature / flow instruments, control systems) holds its industry standing and is upgrading towards smart sensors; vehicle-motorcycle components (Changan and Zongshen supply families) are steady; new materials (composite copper foil, functional-materials projects) and biopharmaceuticals are being laid out in stages; the Western (Chongqing) Science City Beibei section (Caijia-Shuitu) carries intelligent sensing and software industries, and the Shuitu New Town data-centre cluster (China Telecom, China Unicom and others) leads in scale.

Beibei's maintenance demand is "specialised and special". Upkeep of SMT, precision assembly and calibration equipment at instrument-electronics firms has high requirements; the M&E facilities (diesel generators, UPS, precision AC, cooling towers) of the Shuitu data-centre cluster need round-the-clock outsourced upkeep — large volume and very sticky; upkeep of machining equipment at vehicle-motorcycle supply plants is steady; and pilot and production-line commissioning at new-materials projects is on the rise. Our focus: outsourced data-centre M&E upkeep, instrument line equipment maintenance, and commissioning of new-materials lines.
