Zhong County

Zhongxian (the old Zhongzhou) is a thousand-year-old city on the upper Yangtze, known historically for salt, mandarins and commerce (Zhongzhou fermented bean curd was tribute as early as the Tang). Its modern industrial base was thin, resting on grain and oil, brewing and small machinery; the Third Front era left a few supply points. After 1997 the Three Gorges resettlement reshaped the county's towns and infrastructure as a whole, and resettlement compensation paired with counterpart support (Shanghai's pairing) got industry started: pharmaceutical chemicals (APIs) were brought in through counterpart support, consumer goods (brewing, food) scaled up, and the citrus industry (Zhongzhou oranges, Paisenbai orange juice) upgraded from traditional growing to deep processing.

In 2025 Zhongxian's above-scale industry grew steadily. Medicine-health (chemical APIs and intermediates, Chinese patent medicines) is the largest industry; consumer goods (fermented bean curd, brewing, food processing, citrus deep processing) keep their specialities and scale; new materials and equipment manufacturing are starting; the industrialisation of modern agriculture (the national Zhongzhou orange brand, rice, zhacai raw materials) is rising; and the Yangtze port (Xinsheng Port) is strengthening as a logistics hub. The Zhongxian High-tech Zone is the main carrier, building a Three Gorges reservoir county where eco-industry and modern agriculture develop in integration.

Zhongxian's maintenance demand centres on pharma and food plant. Upkeep of reactors, centrifuges, dryers and solvent-recovery units at API plants is highly specialised with high explosion-proof compliance requirements; upkeep of washing, sterilising, filling and packaging equipment at food and brewing plants (fermented bean curd, juice) is steady, with continuous automation-retrofit demand; upkeep and annual-inspection rectification of port handling equipment (portal cranes, belt conveying) are specialised work; and equipment commissioning orders for new projects are rising. Our focus: API plant overhauls and explosion-proof retrofits, food and brewing line upkeep and upgrades, and port-equipment upkeep.
