Wansheng Economic Development Zone

Wansheng rose on coal. The Nantong coal mine (developed in 1938 by the Nationalist Government's National Resources Commission, an important energy base for the wartime capital) and the Donglin mine supplied coal to Chongqing's ordnance and industry during the war of resistance — among the city's earliest industrial mining districts; the Nantong mining district was set up in 1955 and renamed Wansheng District in 1993. Under the Third Front programme coal-mine machinery and chemical supply extended here. In 2009 Wansheng was listed among the national resource-depleted city transition pilots, and the Wansheng ETDZ was established in 2011, turning from a "coal city" to diversified industry: coal power (Chongqing Energy Investment family plants) was kept, magnesium-aluminium alloys (the Wansheng Magnesium family) and new materials followed on, and tourism (Black Mountain Valley) and the sports industry ("home of badminton") rose.

In 2025 the Wansheng ETDZ's above-scale industry was led by energy-chemicals and new materials. Coal power and chemicals (gas-coal chemical supply) run steadily; magnesium-aluminium deep processing (lightweight auto parts, 3C structural parts) is a speciality cluster; electronic-information supply (connectors, electronic components) and new-energy materials projects are landing in stages; all-area tourism (Black Mountain Valley, Dragon-Scale Stone Sea) drives services. As a model of resource-city transition, Wansheng is pushing a twin-wheel drive of "industry + tourism".

Wansheng's maintenance demand concentrates on energy and materials plant. Overhauls of rotating equipment and boiler auxiliaries at power plants and coal-gasification units are traditional large orders; upkeep and retrofits of magnesium melting and die-casting equipment (hot, high-risk conditions) are highly specialised; equipment upkeep at electronics supply plants is steady; and conversion and demolition works on legacy mining equipment and facilities are a speciality line. Our focus: outsourced power-plant auxiliary overhauls, upkeep and energy-saving retrofits across the die-casting cluster, and custody-style equipment upkeep at electronics plants.
