Rongchang District

Rongchang (the old Changzhou) was known in modern times for handicrafts and commerce: Rongchang ramie cloth (hand-woven), folding fans, pottery and the Rongchang pig are hailed as its "four national treasures", with a deep handicraft tradition — in the late Qing and Republican periods the ramie cloth was exported as far as Korea and Japan, an important Sichuan export. Under the Third Front programme Rongchang took in small Third Front machinery and chemical points. After reform and opening-up, on the Chengdu-Chongqing railway and expressway, Rongchang grew consumer-goods industry (a garment-processing cluster that became an important western production base in the 2000s), food (goose and pork deep processing) and veterinary biological products (building on animal-husbandry research resources); in 2015 the National Pig Big Data Centre settled here, and husbandry science and digitalisation became city calling cards.

In 2025 Rongchang's above-scale industry grew steadily. Consumer goods (garments, shoes and hats, food) hold their cluster scale and are upgrading towards branding; intelligent equipment (CNC machine tools, moulds, automation lines) is forming a system; biopharmaceuticals (veterinary drugs, animal vaccines, biological products), on the back of husbandry research strengths, form a nationally distinctive cluster; electronic-information supply and new materials are starting. The Rongchang High-tech Zone is the main carrier, and construction of the Sichuan-Chongqing cooperation (Rongchang-Longchang) demonstration zone is advancing.

The Rongchang garment cluster (several hundred firms), the veterinary drug and animal vaccine group (biological products), the operator of the National Pig Big Data Centre, the CNC machine-tool and mould cluster, and food deep-processing firms (goose / pork products).

Rongchang's maintenance demand centres on light industry and biological products. Garment firms run enormous fleets of cutting (automatic cutting tables), sewing and pressing equipment, so custody-style upkeep and rapid repair are the mainstream; cleanroom facilities (purification HVAC, pure water, sterilisation) and production lines (solution preparation, filling, freeze-drying) at veterinary drug and vaccine firms carry high upkeep requirements and strong stickiness; accuracy maintenance at machine-tool and mould firms is specialised; and upkeep of slaughtering, portioning and packaging equipment at food plants is steady. Our focus: packaged equipment custody for light-industry clusters, biological-products cleanroom and line upkeep, and food-equipment upkeep and retrofits.
