Wulong District

Wulong lies in the lower-Wu River gorge country, historically living on shipping, tung oil and mountain-goods distribution, with a thin modern industrial base; the Third Front era left a few supply points. The turning point was tourism: in the 1990s Furong Cave (discovered and developed in 1994), the Three Natural Bridges and Fairy Mountain were developed in succession; in 2007 "South China Karst" was inscribed as a World Natural Heritage site (Wulong the core area); and filming of Zhang Yimou's Curse of the Golden Flower and Transformers 4 sent Wulong's fame soaring — tourism became the absolute leading industry. On the industry side, clean energy grew on the Wu River's hydro potential (the Yinpan station and others) and shale-gas resources (the Wulong block), and mountain speciality farm-product processing (Wulong sweet-potato noodles, high-mountain vegetables, Yangjiao dried tofu) scaled up.

In 2025 Wulong's economy rested on tourism: the World Natural Heritage sites (Three Natural Bridges, Fairy Mountain, Furong Cave) rank among the city's top districts and counties for annual visitors, with snow-and-ice tourism and wellness resorts (the Fairy Mountain resort) operating year-round; clean energy (the Wu River hydro cascade, shale-gas development) contributes steadily; speciality foods (sweet-potato noodles, Yangjiao dried tofu, high-mountain vegetables) are upgrading towards branding; and tourism equipment and services (cableways, hotel facilities, scenic-area operations) are important carriers of employment and industry.

The Wulong Karst Tourism Group (scenic-area operations), Wu River hydropower (the Yinpan cascade stations), the Wulong shale-gas developer, the speciality food cluster (sweet-potato noodles, dried tofu), and the operators of hotels and wellness facilities at the Fairy Mountain resort.

Wulong's maintenance demand centres on scenic facilities and energy plant. Upkeep and mandatory annual-inspection rectification of scenic special equipment (passenger cableways, sightseeing vehicles, elevators and escalators) are rigid, specialised work with extremely high safety requirements; scheduled inspections and overhauls of hydro and gas-field station M&E equipment follow defined cycles; upkeep of washing, cooking, drying and packaging equipment in food processing (sweet-potato noodles, dried tofu) is steady; and the packaged O&M market for hotel and resort M&E facilities (central AC, boilers, water supply and drainage) is large. Our focus: scenic cableway and special-equipment upkeep, packaged hotel M&E O&M, and food-line upkeep.
