Yunyang County

Yunyang (the old Yun'an) is one of the thousand-year salt capitals: the Yunyang salt industry (the Baitu well, legendarily begun in the Han dynasty) and Yangtze shipping shaped its early commerce and industry; in modern times salt, tung oil and medicinal-herb distribution were the economic pillars, and the Third Front era left a few supply points. Three Gorges resettlement (the whole county seat moved to a new town) reshaped infrastructure and the urban layout, and resettlement industry support got industry started: noodle making (the Yunyang noodle trade — "Yunyang noodle workers" are found nationwide and many returned to start businesses) formed a speciality cluster, and food and consumer-goods industry scaled up; speciality agriculture (Yunyang red oranges, Three Gorges yang chrysanthemum, goats) extended into deep processing and branding.

In 2025 Yunyang County's above-scale industry grew steadily. Consumer goods (noodles and grain-oil foods, condiments, liquor) are the largest industry, with the Yunyang noodle brand reaching nationwide influence; new materials (metal new materials, packaging materials) and intelligent equipment are starting; the industrialisation of speciality-agriculture deep processing (red oranges, yang chrysanthemum, herbal medicines) is rising; and tourism (Zhangfei Temple, the Three Gorges Terrace City, the Longgang scenic area) advances with commerce-logistics. The Yunyang Industrial Park is the main carrier, building a Three Gorges reservoir county where eco-industry and tourism develop in integration.

Yunyang's maintenance demand centres on food-processing equipment. Dough-mixing, sheeting, drying and packaging lines at noodle and grain-oil food plants are numerous, with continuous demand for upkeep and automation retrofits (manual feeding to automatic, packaging-line upgrades); upkeep of filling and sterilising equipment at condiment and liquor plants is steady; upkeep of printing, laminating and bag-making equipment at packaging-materials plants is specialised; and upkeep of scenic facilities (cableways, elevators, sewage treatment) is a speciality supplement.
