Xiushan Tujia and Miao Autonomous County

Xiushan lies at the junction of Chongqing, Hunan and Guizhou, historically a commerce and distribution centre of the Wuling Mountains (Hong'an, the "Border Town", is one of the prototypes for Shen Congwen's novella Border Town). Its modern industry was marked by manganese mining and smelting: Xiushan is rich in manganese ore, mined at scale from the 1950s; the "China Manganese Triangle" (Xiushan-Songtao-Huayuan) was once the nation's main electrolytic-manganese producing area, and manganese at one point contributed half of the county's industry. The Third Front era left supply points. After environmental rectification in the 2010s sharply cut electrolytic-manganese capacity, Xiushan turned to new materials (manganese deep processing, battery materials) and ecological agriculture (Xiushan free-range chicken, honeysuckle, tea); the Yu-Huai Railway and Baomao Expressway made Xiushan a Wuling logistics hub (e-commerce and farm-product distribution).

In 2025 Xiushan County's above-scale industry kept transitioning: manganese-family new materials (deep processing after the electrolytic-manganese transition, manganese battery materials) and building materials (new wall materials) are the main industrial forms; food and farm-product processing (free-range chicken, honeysuckle decoction pieces, tea, camellia oil) is scaling up — Xiushan free-range chicken is a national geographical indication; commerce-logistics (the Wuling e-commerce distribution centre, specialty markets) is a speciality advantage industry; and tourism (Hong'an Border Town, Chuanhegai) keeps developing. The Xiushan High-tech Zone is the main carrier, building a Wuling centre of commerce-logistics and eco-industry.

The Xiushan manganese new-materials and building-materials cluster, the free-range chicken and honeysuckle processing group (geographical-indication products), the operator of the Wuling e-commerce logistics distribution centre, tea and camellia-oil processors, and the Hong'an Border Town tourism operator.

Xiushan's maintenance demand centres on the mining legacy and farm-product processing. Pump, rectifier and anti-corrosion upkeep at manganese deep-processing plants (roasting, leaching, converted electrolysis equipment) is highly specialised; upkeep demand for logistics-park facilities (forklifts, conveying and sorting lines, cold-store refrigeration units) is growing steadily; upkeep of food-processing equipment (slaughtering, portioning, packaging, decoction-piece drying) is large and broad; and M&E package orders for newly built plants continue. Our focus: anti-corrosion and electrical upkeep on manganese plant, logistics and cold-store equipment upkeep, and food-processing line upkeep and retrofits.
