Fengjie County

Fengjie (the old Kuizhou) is the gateway to the Yangtze Three Gorges, historically a military and commercial stronghold of eastern Sichuan (Baidi City, Yong'an Palace), its economy based on salt, tung oil and shipping distribution; modern industry was thin, and the Third Front era left a few supply points. Three Gorges resettlement (the county seat rebuilt landward as a whole, completed in the 2000s) reshaped towns and infrastructure; industry has been cultivated around Fengjie navel oranges — planted area and output rank first nationally among late-ripening navel oranges, forming a speciality-agriculture industrialisation path in which "one tree" pulls the whole county; energy (the Fengjie power plant, hydropower) moves with tourism (Baidi City · Qutang Gorge, the Summit of the Three Gorges).

In 2025 Fengjie County's economy rested on speciality agriculture and tourism. The full navel-orange chain (growing, sorting, cold storage, deep processing, e-commerce sales) ranks among the top of all counties nationally by output value, with investment in sorting and cold-chain equipment still rising; tourism (the Baidi City · Qutang Gorge 5A scenic area, the Summit of the Three Gorges, poetry culture) receives large annual visitor numbers; clean energy (thermal and hydro) contributes steadily; and farm-product deep processing (orange juice, navel-orange essential oil, herbal medicines) plus consumer-goods industry are starting. Fengjie is building into a strong Three Gorges reservoir county integrating speciality agriculture and tourism.

Fengjie's maintenance demand centres on agricultural equipment and tourism facilities. Photoelectric sorting lines, cold-chain refrigeration units (compressors, evaporative condensers) and washing-packaging equipment along the navel-orange chain are numerous and strongly seasonal, so upkeep and technical-retrofit demand is concentrated; upkeep of juicing, concentration and filling equipment at deep-processing plants is steady; power-plant auxiliary overhauls are traditional large orders; and upkeep of scenic facilities (cableways, cruise-dock M&E, sewage treatment) is a speciality line.
