Kaizhou District

Kaizhou (the old Kai County) was traditionally a land of agriculture and salt: the salt springs at Wenquan town have records of extraction since the Han dynasty, and in the Republican period salt and commerce were active. Under the Third Front programme Kai County took in small Third Front machinery and chemical points. After reform and opening-up Kai County became known for exported labour ("Kaizhou golden chefs" and "Kaizhou construction workers" are found nationwide), with local industry starting in building materials, food and light textiles. After converting from county to district in 2016, Kaizhou seized the industrialisation opening in north-east Chongqing: the Puli New Area (Kaizhou High-tech Zone) built standard plants at large scale, taking in relocation of electronic information (smart-terminal supply) and consumer goods (furniture, garments) from the east and Chongqing's urban core, and electronic information quickly became the largest industry.

In 2025 Kaizhou's above-scale industry grew steadily. Electronic information (smart-terminal components, electronic components, PCB supply) is the largest industry, with the number of enterprises in the Puli New Area still rising; consumer-goods industry (furniture, garments, food processing) holds its cluster scale; energy-building materials (cement, new wall materials) and chemicals (fine chemicals) are steady; and modern agriculture (Kaizhou spring oranges, herbal medicines) extends into deep processing. The Kaizhou High-tech Zone is the main carrier, building an important growth pole of the north-east-Chongqing Sichuan-Chongqing coordinated development demonstration zone.

Kaizhou's maintenance demand centres on new builds and small-to-mid electronics plants. There are many new-build commissioning orders for electronics firms' SMT, moulding, assembly and test equipment, with steady custody-style upkeep after start-up; M&E packages for standard plants (power distribution, compressed air, pure water, exhaust treatment) — both works and O&M — are a speciality line; upkeep of furniture and garment plant equipment (CNC cutting, edge banding, cutting tables) is large and broad; and building-materials and chemical plant overhauls follow defined cycles. Our focus: commissioning and custody upkeep at new electronics plants, plant M&E packages, and packaged upkeep across light-industry equipment fleets.
