Fengdu County

Fengdu (the old Pingdu) is famed for its "ghost culture" (the Fengdu Ghost City legend dates to the Han dynasty, and in the Ming and Qing it became an important node of Yangtze travel); historically its economy rested on salt, tung oil and Yangtze shipping distribution. Modern industry began with building materials and chemicals: under the Third Front programme Fengdu took in cement and chemical supply points; after the 1990s the cement industry (on Yangtze water transport and limestone resources) became a pillar. Three Gorges resettlement (the county seat moved landward as a whole, forming the Mingshan-new-county-seat layout) reshaped towns and infrastructure. In recent years industry has diversified: new materials (upgraded metals and building materials) and food (spicy chicken, zhacai raw material, beef deep processing) have scaled up, and tourism (Ghost City Mingshan, Xueyu Cave, the Nantianhu resort) keeps developing.

In 2025 Fengdu County's above-scale industry ran steadily. Building materials and new materials (cement and products, metal new materials) are the largest industry; food processing (Fengdu spicy chicken, a national geographical indication; zhacai raw material; beef and condiments) has scaled up; clean energy (hydro, wind, Nantianhu solar) is being developed steadily; tourism (the Ghost City Mingshan 5A scenic area, the Nantianhu resort) receives large annual visitor numbers, driving services; and the Fengdu Shuitianping Industrial Park is the main carrier, building an upper-Yangtze county integrating tourism and eco-industry.

The Fengdu cement and building-materials cluster (including new-materials upgrade projects), the spicy-chicken and condiment processing group (geographical-indication brands), zhacai raw-material and beef deep-processing firms, the Nantianhu resort operator, and hydro, wind and solar project owners.

Fengdu's maintenance demand centres on building-materials plant and food equipment. Kiln systems (rotary kilns, grate coolers), mills, conveying and dust-extraction equipment at cement and building-materials plants are large in scale, with continuous demand for mechanical overhauls and electrical retrofits (VFD energy saving, dust-extraction upgrades); upkeep and automation retrofits of washing, marinating, filling and packaging equipment at food plants (spicy chicken, condiments, zhacai) are steady; O&M of hotel and cableway M&E facilities at the Nantianhu resort is a speciality line; and O&M demand at wind and PV plants is growing. Our focus: kiln-mill system overhauls and energy-saving retrofits, food-line upkeep and upgrades, and O&M of resort and new-energy facilities.
